My Quote of the Day
"It's really hard to walk
in a single woman's shoes
in a single woman's shoes
-- that's why you sometimes
need really special shoes!"
need really special shoes!"

Old Gold Boutique

If you live in Montreal and not under a rock, you should know about Old Gold Boutique. This boutique has a home in the heart of the Plateau and even on a computer near you with their newly renovated online store. They make vintage chic accessible and can add spunk to any outfit. It is a one stop shop since they got it all, from scarves to dresses to even blankets!
Smart Design Mart 2010 Coeur List
Sadly I will be working most of the weekend but on my one day off, Sunday, I will be running to smart design mart to check out some very talented Montrealers and some that I can actually call friends. Here are a few designers/artists that are on my must see list!
I have been in love with Elaine Ho's jewelry and bags for a long time now. I still cherish a tweed bag with lamé colored stars that I bought from her over 5 years ago. She is also one of the organizers of this very cool talented mart. All I can say is what she creates with silver just makes my heart flutter.

I can bet good money that Natalie Finkelstein will be a household name very soon. Currently finishing her masters in fine arts and taking the fashion world by storm, she still has time to create some very beautiful art pieces that capture the modern day girl with her beauty, edge and humanizing flaws. You will be captured, I guarantee.

If you have met me, you know that I love two things : crows and skulls. Well, Vanessa Moore must be psychic!! She makes everything from jewelry to hats to clothes and all with great workmanship. If you miss her at the mart this weekend, do not fear! You can now find her in Downtown Montreal at Off the Hook!

Uranium is THE streetwear accessories brand of our time. You can find yourself within the seasons collection whether you are a rock ‘n roll chick, a pin up girl, a classic lady or the girl next door. They have everything from dazzling you in sparkles or keeping you warm in their amazing scarves.

Betina Lou makes you feel pretty and cute. Her pieces are impeccably crafted and with such a neutral color palette, you will be able to wear her pieces for seasons and seasons!

Lanvin is almost here

I have already gushed on the blog about the collaboration between H&M and Lanvin which will be heading to an H&M near you as of the 23rd of november. Photos of the collaboration have started to circulate. Here are a few of my favorite pieces but I am not sure how determined I am to fight the Montreal girly lineup on the 23rd maybe if my nails grow just a bit more...

Underbelly Project

Once the tour with the reporter was completed, all the equipment to get in and out of the tunnel was destroyed. One of the street artists explained the reason behind this decision: “We’re not under the illusion that no one will ever see it,” Workhorse said. “But what we are trying to do is to discourage it as much as possible.”
“If you go in there and break your neck, nobody’s going to hear you scream,” he said — at least assuming there are no track workers around. “You’re just going to have to hope that someone is going to find you before you die.”
I guess that is where the seduction lies...
All About Your Wall

Founded in 2002, Blik, a California based company, has taken removable surface graphics to a whole other level. You can choose from many of their graphics that are inspired from videogames, cartoons and art pieces or even customize your own. They are always collaboarating with various up and coming and established artists such as one of my favorites, Jeremy Fish. Also, they have joined forces with the community centered apparel store Threadless.
I am definitely buying a graphic for my bedroom wall, for now it is a secret, but definitely will put up a picture once I have it set on my wall!

Vans X Made Me

Made Me has joined forces with Vans to create a little collaboration just in time for Holiday 2010. The footwear collection includes two of Vans' girl styles, the Camryn and the Wellesley, and inspiredd by the late 80's and 90's nightlife of the big apple, NYC. I love the simplicity of using black and white with a touch of print.
